Commissioned by the Royal Thai Police (under Police General Pornsak Durongkavibul, the Commissioner-General at the time) to commemorate the opening of its new headquarters building. Its primary purpose was to establish a welfare fund for police officers injured or killed in the line of duty and their families. What makes this edition special is its consecration ceremonies and the sacred materials used in its creation: • Exceptional sacred materials: His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch and head of the Buddhist monastic order, graciously bestowed the principal ingredients: Chitralada powder, sacred Buddhist blessing powder, and strands of his hair. The mixture also included sacred Buddhist blessing powder from Somdet Phra Maha Thirachan of Wat Chana Songkhram. The Royal Thai Police additionally spent a full 2 years gathering 108 varieties of sacred herbs from across the country. • A legendary lay ritual master: Police Major General Khun Phantharak Ratchadet (Khun Phan) served as the lay master of ceremonies. He devoted great care to this ritual and contributed sacred materials from his personal collection to the amulet mixture. • Two grand Buddhist consecration ceremonies: First ceremony (ceremonial metal pouring): Held on 17 September B.E. 2543 (2000) in the ordination hall of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, presided over by His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch. Second ceremony (grand Buddhist consecration): Held on 15 October B.E. 2543 (2000) in the ordination hall of Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan.
