Talata on mobile and on the web

About Talata - Buy, sell and rent across Thailand

Talata is an online marketplace in Thailand for houses, condos, land, cars, motorcycles, household appliances, personal items, mobile phones, Buddhist amulets, services, pets, and more. Sellers can post listings for free, while buyers can browse, compare options, and contact them directly.

Talata is operated by Talata Group Co., Ltd., which was founded on 13 February 2025 and promoted by Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI). The platform is available on the website and the iOS and Android apps, in Thai, English, and Russian.

From “talat” to Talata

The name Talata comes from talat (ตลาด), the Thai word for market. At a Thai market, people meet, see what’s on offer, ask about prices, negotiate and agree on a deal directly. We wanted to bring that experience online and make it accessible to people across Thailand. In other words, Talata is a talat online (you may also see it spelled talad online): the same market, just on your screen.

Online listings are often scattered across buy-and-sell groups and specialist websites. Buyers have to browse several sites to find options worth comparing, while sellers post the same listing in multiple places. Talata brings a wide range of categories together, making it easier to get started, whether you’re selling your first item or looking for a new deal.

We want Talata to be the first place people turn to when they have something to sell or something to find. User feedback will guide us as we continue to make the platform easier to use and improve safety.

What matters to us

Easy to use from the start

Buying and selling should be simple. Even if you’ve never posted a listing before, you can create one yourself in a few steps. On average, posting a listing takes less than 30 seconds. If you’re looking to buy or rent, you can browse by category, location and price to find relevant listings more easily.

Free listings, no commission

Posting on Talata is free, and we do not charge commission on sales or rentals. Sellers can set their prices without factoring in a commission fee, while buyers can speak directly to the seller or landlord.

Open to everyone

Talata is for people across Thailand, including Thai nationals and international residents. You can use the website or app in Thai, English or Russian to buy, sell and rent on the same platform.

What can you buy, sell and rent on Talata?

Talata organises listings into more than 200 categories, including subcategories, making it suitable for both individuals selling a single item and businesses offering a range of products or services. Examples of what you can list include:

  • Property: houses, condos, land, commercial buildings and retail space for sale or rent
  • Vehicles: cars, motorcycles, boats, trucks, car parts
  • Home and lifestyle: mobile phones, electronics, personal items, home and garden products, hobby items and Buddhist amulets
  • Other categories: pets, food and local services

You can browse by province or area, starting with listings nearby and expanding your search to other provinces for more options. You can also browse listings on a map to see what’s for sale or rent near your home, your work or the area you’re interested in.

Use Talata on the web or in the app

Talata is available on the website, talata.co.th, and as a free mobile app for iOS and Android. Whether you’re searching, selling, renting out or chatting with a seller, use whichever suits you. Both support Thai, English and Russian.

On the website

Nothing to install: just open it in your browser. It’s handy when you want to compare several listings side by side on a bigger screen, or when you have a lot of details to type, such as for a house, condo or car. On the web you can also save listings for later and chat with sellers, just like in the app.

In the iOS and Android app

If you mostly use Talata on your phone, the app makes things easier. Take photos with your camera and post straight away, search for listings near you, and get notified when someone messages you so you can reply fast.

How to get started on Talata

For buyers

Choose a category or enter a search term, then filter the results by location, price and any other options available in that category. Each listing includes photos, a description, a price and a map location to help you compare your options.

When you find something you’re interested in, use the contact details in the listing to ask questions or arrange to see the item or property in person.

For sellers, landlords and businesses

You can post a listing on the website or app. Prepare your photos and details, then follow these steps:

  1. Upload between 3 and 20 photos.
  2. Write a title with the key details, such as the make, model, year or location.
  3. Select the category.
  4. Add a description and any terms.
  5. Set your price.
  6. Mark the location on the map.
  7. Verify your phone number.
  8. Submit your listing.

Already listed somewhere else? Use the import feature: paste the link, and Talata pulls in the photos and details for you to review before you submit.

Clear photos and a detailed description help potential buyers to understand what you’re offering before they contact you. To help you set a price, compare similar listings in the same category.

Safety on Talata and checks before a deal

Everyone posting a listing on Talata must verify their phone number before submitting it. Phone verification does not guarantee that the information in a listing is accurate. Buyers and tenants should still inspect the item or property and check the seller’s or landlord’s details before agreeing to a deal or making a payment.

Before buying or renting:

  • See the item or property in person before paying.
  • Check that the seller’s or landlord’s details match the relevant documents, such as the vehicle registration book, land title deed (chanote) or tenancy agreement.
  • Be cautious of unusually low prices or requests to transfer a deposit urgently before you’ve seen the item or property.
  • Confirm the terms through a channel that keeps a written record, and save your messages and proof of payment.

If a listing looks suspicious, do not transfer any money. Save the listing link and your messages, then contact the Talata team at support@talata.co.th or via LINE @talata so they can review it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Talata safe to use?

Talata is operated by Talata Group Co., Ltd., a company registered in Thailand that has received investment promotion from the Board of Investment (BOI). Everyone posting a listing must verify their phone number, but this does not verify the accuracy of the listing itself. Always inspect the item or property and check the relevant documents before agreeing to a deal or paying.

Which provinces does Talata cover?

You can search and post listings across Thailand, and browse by province or area. The number of listings varies by location. If you cannot find what you need locally, try expanding your search to nearby provinces.

Can foreigners use Talata?

Yes. The Talata website and app are available in English and Russian, so foreigners living in Thailand can search, post listings and contact sellers just like Thai users. If you’re interested in buying property, check the rules on foreign ownership before you agree to a deal.

How is a Talata listing different from a social media post?

Talata groups listings by category, with photos, prices, descriptions and locations to make comparisons easier. People can find your listing by category and area for as long as it remains active. If you already sell through other channels, you can use Talata alongside them. If your item is already listed elsewhere, just paste the link to import it into Talata.

Does Talata handle payments or guarantee items?

Talata provides a place to post listings and connects buyers with sellers. It does not collect payments on either party’s behalf or provide guarantees for items. Both parties agree on payment arrangements and the terms of the deal directly.
