Choosing the Right Used TV Size for Your Space
Choosing a used TV should start with where you plan to place it and how you will use it. A smaller screen may work well for a bedroom, dorm room or condo, while a larger screen may be better for a living room, family area or home entertainment setup.
On Talata, you can browse used TV listings in different sizes, brands and types, such as LED TV, Smart TV, Android TV, Google TV and 4K TV. You can compare price, condition and seller location before deciding which listing is worth contacting.
Used 32-Inch TVs
A used 32-inch TV is suitable for bedrooms, condos, dorm rooms or smaller spaces where a large screen may feel too big. This size is often enough for casual watching, connecting to a TV box, using with a media player or watching content from a short distance.
Before buying, check whether the TV is a Smart TV or a regular TV. You should also look at the HDMI and USB ports, screen condition, remote control, stand and any accessories included with the listing.
Used 43–55-Inch TVs
Used 43–55-inch TVs are suitable for living rooms, rental homes or families who want a larger screen for movies, series, sports or gaming. This size range is also where many buyers start looking for Smart TVs or 4K TVs because they are more flexible for everyday entertainment.
If you mainly want to use streaming apps, ask the seller whether the basic apps still work properly, whether the system runs smoothly and whether the previous owner’s account has already been removed from the TV.
Used TVs 65 Inches and Above
Used TVs 65 inches and above are suitable for buyers who want to upgrade to a larger screen for a living room, detached house or a space with enough viewing distance. Buying a large used TV can sometimes help you get a bigger screen at a more manageable budget than buying a new one.
The main things to consider are transportation, weight, screen edge condition and the risk of damage during moving. For large TVs, it is worth checking the seller’s location carefully. If possible, arrange to see or test the TV before accepting the item.
What to Check Before Buying a Used TV
Before buying a used TV, check the screen condition and real usage carefully. Some problems may not be visible from photos alone, such as dead pixels, backlight issues, screen lines or ports that no longer work.
Start by checking the screen when the TV is both turned on and turned off. Look for scratches, dark spots, unusual colors, backlight bleed, flickering or uneven brightness. If the seller can provide photos of the TV displaying different screens, such as white, black and moving images, it will be easier to evaluate the condition.
Connection ports are also important, especially HDMI, USB, audio ports and antenna ports. If you plan to connect a TV box, game console, sound system or streaming device, ask clearly whether these ports still work properly.
For Smart TVs, check whether the TV has been reset, whether apps still work, whether the remote control functions properly and whether the previous owner’s account is still logged in. If the listing includes a stand or wall-mount accessory, confirm whether it is included in the selling price.
How to List a Used TV on Talata
If you have an old TV that you no longer use, creating a clear listing can help buyers evaluate it more easily. This is especially important for used TVs because buyers usually want to see the real screen condition, size, model and overall working condition before contacting the seller.
Steps to list a used TV on Talata:
- Click “Post Listing” and choose the electronics or television category.
- Write a clear title, such as “Samsung 55-Inch 4K Smart TV – Used, Good Condition.”
- Select the item condition honestly.
- Set a selling price based on the brand, model, screen size and condition.
- Upload real photos from several angles, including the TV turned on, TV turned off, back panel, ports, remote control and included accessories.
- Add your location or pickup area clearly.
- Include important details such as screen size, brand, model, TV type and visible defects if any.
- Review all information before publishing the listing.
How to Write a Listing Title That Sells Faster
A good listing title should include the information buyers look for first: brand, screen size, TV type and item condition. Examples include “LG 43-Inch Smart TV Used,” “Sony 55-Inch 4K TV Good Condition” or “32-Inch LED TV with Remote.”
Avoid exaggerated claims such as “best” or “cheapest” unless you have clear proof. A simple and accurate title usually helps buyers understand the listing faster.
How to Take Trustworthy Photos of a Used TV
Used TV photos should clearly show the screen condition and included accessories. Useful photos include the TV turned on, the screen close-up, the back of the TV, connection ports, remote control and any visible defects.
For a Smart TV or 4K TV, you can also show the menu screen or a real display image so buyers can see that the TV is still working properly. Clear and honest photos reduce repeated questions and make buyers more confident before contacting you.
