Recommended Used Pickup Trucks in Thailand (2026), by Budget and Use

For most buyers, the safest used pickups in Thailand are the Toyota Hilux Revo, Isuzu D-Max and Ford Ranger: parts and mechanics are everywhere, and they resell easily. Under 300,000 baht, an older Hilux Vigo or previous-generation D-Max still makes sense. Below are models by job and budget, with example prices from Talata, which brings used car listings from owners into one place so buyers and sellers can find each other.
Recommended Used Pickups at a Glance
Use this table to shortlist. The last column shows example asking prices from used pickup listings on Talata in late October 2026, not market averages. What any one truck is worth depends on its year, trim, mileage and condition.
| Model | Years worth a look | Common engines | Best suited to | What to check closely | Example listing prices (Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Hilux Revo | 2015–2025 | 2.4 and 2.8 diesel | Everyday use, families, buyers who want easy resale | Dealer service history; suspension on raised models | about 320,000–750,000 baht |
| Isuzu D-Max | 2011–2019 and 2019 onwards | 1.9, 2.5, 3.0 | Hauling, upcountry driving, low running costs | Leaf springs and load bed on work trucks | about 320,000–800,000 baht |
| Ford Ranger | 2011–2022 and 2022 onwards | 2.2, 3.2, 2.0 Bi-Turbo | Long distances, rough roads, a roomy cabin | Major repair records and dealer receipts | about 250,000–560,000 baht (Raptor about 1.36 million) |
| Mitsubishi Triton | 2014–2023 | 2.4 | Mid budgets, plenty of trims to choose from | Whether the service book is complete | about 260,000–520,000 baht |
| Nissan Navara NP300 | 2014 onwards | 2.5 | A mix of city and long trips, rear-seat comfort | Fewer listings, so compare prices carefully | about 270,000–470,000 baht |
| Mazda BT-50 Pro | 2012–2020 | 2.2 and 3.2 | Budgets under 300,000 baht for a newer truck | A service centre near you | about 220,000–300,000 baht |

Who a Used Pickup Suits, and the Trade-offs
A used pickup suits people who carry goods regularly, work upcountry, drive on dirt roads, or want one vehicle for both work and family trips. Pickups are built tough, carry heavy loads, cope with poor roads and stay in demand on the used market, so they are rarely hard to sell.
The trade-offs surprise people moving from a saloon. Pickups use more fuel, they are big to park in malls and narrow sois, and the ride is firm when the bed is empty because the suspension is set up for weight. On extended-cab models (sold in Thailand as Smart Cab, Space Cab, Mega Cab, Open Cab or King Cab), the rear seats are only good for short trips. If you regularly carry adults or children in the back, start with a four-door double cab.
How to Choose a Used Pickup That Will Last
Match the engine to the load
Work out what you will actually carry before you look at model names. A small engine such as the D-Max 1.9 Blue Power makes 150 hp and 350 Nm, enough for city driving and light to medium loads. If you haul heavy loads, tow, or drive in the hills often, a 2.4-litre engine or larger will work less hard. The 2.8-litre Revo after its 2020 facelift, for example, makes 204 PS and 500 Nm.
An engine that has spent years working beyond its limits wears faster, so a truck that was routinely overloaded needs a closer inspection than usual.
Automatic or manual
An automatic pickup is far easier in city traffic, and later models offer more automatic versions. Manuals are still common on single cabs and work trucks. If you sit in traffic every day, go automatic. Some drivers who tow or climb steep roads still prefer a manual for direct control of the revs.
Either way, listen to the gearbox and watch how it shifts on the test drive. If an automatic jerks or changes gear late, have a mechanic check it before you negotiate.
Popularity and resale value
The Revo and D-Max are the pickups Thai buyers know best, and there are plenty of them listed. That keeps their prices up as they age, and they sell faster when it is your turn to sell. The flip side is that you pay more for them than for other models of the same year.
If you plan to keep the truck for 8–10 years and don't care much about resale, a less sought-after model such as the Navara or BT-50 Pro may get you a newer truck for the same money.
Recommended Used Pickup Models for 2026
Toyota Hilux Revo
The Revo is the eighth-generation Hilux, launched in Thailand in 2015 and given a major facelift in 2020. The diesels you will see most are the 2.4 and 2.8, in Standard Cab, Smart Cab and Double Cab bodies, plus the raised Prerunner. In late 2025 Toyota launched a new generation under the name Hilux Travo for raised and four-wheel-drive versions, while the Revo name stays on the low-rider. Used Revos on the market are therefore mostly 2015–2025 trucks.
The Revo suits buyers who want an all-round pickup that holds its value, and Toyota has service centres in every province. Check that the dealer service history is continuous, and have a mechanic look at the suspension and drivetrain on raised or 4x4 versions. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 ranged from about 320,000 baht for a 2019 truck to about 750,000 baht for a 2.8 4x4 of the same year. See more used Toyota listings to compare.
Isuzu D-Max
On the used market the D-Max comes in two main generations: the one launched in 2011 and the current one launched in 2019. The earlier generation used 2.5 and 3.0 engines, then added the 1.9 Ddi Blue Power with the November 2015 update. Body styles cover the Spark (single cab), Space Cab and Cab-4. The raised two-wheel-drive version is called the Hi-Lander, and the 4x4 is the V-Cross.
Farmers, traders and upcountry buyers like the D-Max because the engines are durable and frugal, and most garages know them well. On trucks that have done real work, check the leaf springs, the bed liner and dents inside the load bed. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 were about 320,000–370,000 baht for the previous generation and about 790,000–800,000 baht for 2022–2023 trucks of the current one. Compare other used Isuzu listings before you decide.
Ford Ranger
The T6 Ranger made its world debut in Thailand in March 2011 with 2.2 and 3.2 engines. A 2.0 Bi-Turbo with a 10-speed automatic followed in July 2018. The current generation launched at the Bangkok Motor Show in March 2022. Bodies come as Standard Cab, Open Cab and Double Cab, and the raised two-wheel-drive version is called the Hi-Rider.
The Ranger is known for a settled ride on long trips, a roomy cabin and a wide choice of 4x4 versions. Ask for dealer receipts and a full record of major repairs. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 ran from about 250,000 baht for a 2017 extended cab to about 560,000 baht for a 2019 Wildtrak Bi-Turbo. 2022–2023 Ranger Raptors were listed at about 1.36 million baht.
Mitsubishi Triton
The Triton you will see most often is the generation unveiled in Thailand in November 2014, with a 2.4 MIVEC diesel and many trims, including the Mega Cab and Double Cab in both low-rider and raised Plus versions. An all-new Triton was unveiled in Thailand on 26 July 2023, so young examples of that generation sit above the other trucks in this list on price.
The Triton suits mid budgets and buyers who like plenty of trims to choose from. Check that every scheduled service is stamped in the book. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 were about 260,000–400,000 baht for 2017–2018 trucks and about 520,000 baht for a 2022 single-cab 4x4.
Nissan Navara
The NP300 Navara made its world debut in Thailand on 11 June 2014. Most come with the 2.5 diesel, in King Cab and Double Cab bodies, plus special editions such as the Black Edition.
Navara owners tend to like the softer ride and the comfortable rear seats on the four-door. The catch is that there are fewer Navaras listed than Revos or D-Maxes, so compare prices across several sources. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 ran from about 270,000 baht for a 2017 truck to about 470,000 baht for a 2020 Black Edition.
Mazda BT-50 Pro
The BT-50 Pro is Mazda's second-generation pickup, built in Rayong on the same base as the T6 Ranger, with 2.2 and 3.2 engines. The newer BT-50 launched in mid-2020 switched to an Isuzu D-Max base.
The BT-50 Pro's main advantage is a used price well below a Ranger of similar age, which suits buyers with under 300,000 baht who want a truck that is not too old. Before buying, check there is a Mazda service centre or a garage that knows the model near you. Example asking prices on Talata in late October 2026 were about 220,000–300,000 baht for 2013–2015 trucks.
What Your Budget Gets You

These bands are based on Talata listings in late October 2026 and work as a starting point. Always compare several listings of the same model and year before you decide.
Under 100,000 baht: older pickups that still work
Pickups under 100,000 baht are mostly 25–30 years old or more. One example we saw was a 1993 Isuzu TFR listed at 79,000 baht. Trucks like this can still run around a farm or carry goods short distances, and general garages can still repair them. Accept that safety is far below a modern truck and that small repairs will keep coming, so set aside at least several tens of thousands of baht for fixes.
100,000–300,000 baht
Choice opens up a lot here. Hilux Vigos from 2005–2012 were listed at about 150,000–340,000 baht, T6 Rangers from 2013–2017 at about 250,000–300,000 baht, BT-50 Pros at about 220,000–300,000 baht, and 2017 Tritons and NP300s at about 260,000–270,000 baht. For easy resale later, the Vigo is the safe choice. For a newer truck at the same price, look at the Ranger or BT-50 Pro.
300,000–500,000 baht
This budget gets you a 2016–2021 Revo, a previous-generation D-Max with the 1.9 or 3.0, a 2018 Ranger Double Cab, a 2018 Triton Double Cab or a 2018–2020 Navara. Some current-generation 2023 Rangers in base 4x4 trim were listed at about 500,000 baht. It is a good band if you want an automatic, more safety equipment and a truck with many years left in it.
500,000 baht and up
Above 500,000 baht you start to see Revo 2.8 4x4s, Ranger Wildtrak Bi-Turbos, current-generation 2022–2023 D-Maxes at about 790,000–800,000 baht, and Ranger Raptors at about 1.36 million baht. Many trucks here are under five years old, so compare them with the new price of the same model, because on some models the gap is smaller than you would expect.
Single Cab, Extended Cab or Double Cab: Which Models to Look At
Single cab, for hauling
A single cab is purely for carrying goods. On the used market you will find the Revo Standard Cab, D-Max Spark, Triton single cab and Navara single cab, and the D-Max Spark and Triton also come as 4x4s. For lighter work at a lower starting price, Toyota also sells the Hilux Champ, in short and long wheelbase versions, with 2.0 and 2.7 petrol engines and a 2.4 diesel. Many single cabs have worked hard, so check the bed floor, the leaf springs and whether the mileage fits the truck's age.
Extended cab, for work with occasional passengers
An extended cab is the middle ground for people who mainly carry goods but sometimes need to put bags or a passenger behind the seats for a short trip. Popular choices are the Revo Smart Cab, D-Max Space Cab, Triton Mega Cab, Ranger Open Cab and Navara King Cab. Raised extended cabs such as the Revo Prerunner and D-Max Hi-Lander are in demand, so they usually cost more than low-riders of the same year.
Double cab, for families
If the truck also has to carry your family, choose a four-door double cab: the Revo Double Cab, D-Max Cab-4, Ranger Double Cab, Triton Double Cab or Navara Double Cab. Buyers who care most about rear-seat comfort often prefer the Navara, while those who drive long distances often pick the Ranger. For how the body styles differ, see the used pickup listings page.
Used Pickups to Think Twice About
The first group is models from brands that have left the Thai market. The Chevrolet Colorado is the clearest example: GM announced on 17 February 2020 that it would stop selling Chevrolets in Thailand by the end of that year. Authorised service centres still operate, but there are fewer of them than for the major brands. The Tata Xenon comes from Tata Motors, which stopped assembling vehicles in Thailand in 2018–2019 and cut its showrooms and service centres, although Tata Motors Thailand still sells parts. Both trucks are usually cheaper than rivals of the same year, but call a service centre or garage near you first to confirm they still repair the model and can get parts.
The second group is trucks with heavy modifications, such as an added lift, a changed suspension or a canopy frame over the bed. Fitting a canopy frame has to be reported to the registrar at the Department of Land Transport (DLT). If the truck you want has not been reported, it can cause problems at inspection or transfer, so check that the registration book matches the truck before you pay.
The last group is trucks that have worked hard for years, such as hire trucks or trucks regularly loaded beyond their limit. The mileage may not look high, but the truck can be worn out underneath. If the price is suspiciously low for the year, ask directly how the truck was used.
What to Check Before You Pay
Once you have chosen a model, the next step is proving that the truck matches its listing. Check these before any money changes hands:
- The original registration book, the legal owner's name and the VIN against the truck itself. Our guide to checking a used car's history walks through each step.
- Whether the mileage fits the truck's age and the wear inside. Our odometer guide covers how to spot a rolled-back reading.
- The dealer service history and receipts for major repairs.
- A test drive in town and at higher speeds.
- The order of payment and transfer, explained in our guide to buying a used car in Thailand. Foreign buyers normally need a passport plus a certificate of residence or work permit in place of a Thai ID card when the truck is transferred into their name, so confirm the exact list with the land transport office first.
If you are torn between two or three trucks, compare them point by point and see each one in person before deciding. When you find the right one, message the owner through Talata to ask more questions or arrange a viewing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Hilux Revo or D-Max: which used pickup is better value?
The Revo has a slight edge on resale value and dealer network, while the D-Max does more for hauling and fuel economy at a similar price. Both have easy-to-find parts and plenty of buyers. Judge the individual truck's condition more than the badge.
What is the difference between diesel and petrol used pickups?
Almost all used pickups in Thailand are diesels, because high torque suits carrying loads and they use less fuel when loaded. Petrol pickups do exist, such as the Toyota Hilux Champ with its 2.0 and 2.7 petrol engines, or small trucks like the Suzuki Carry 1.5, which suit light work in town. Unless you have a specific reason, a diesel is still easier for parts and mechanics.
How much mileage is too much on a used pickup?
Judge mileage against the truck's age rather than a single number. Pickups naturally cover more kilometres than saloons, and high mileage with a complete dealer history can be better than low mileage with no records at all. Our odometer guide explains how to read the numbers and spot rollback.
Can I buy a used pickup on finance, and how old can the truck be?
Yes, but each lender sets its own age limit. Kasikornbank, for example, accepts used cars up to 16 years old as long as the car's age plus the loan term does not exceed 21 years, and ttb says most lenders accept cars up to 5–15 years old. The older the truck, the fewer instalments and the smaller the loan you can expect. Check the conditions with the lender before you pay a deposit, and see our guide to used car finance for the steps and documents.
Should I buy a four-door pickup or a PPV like the Fortuner?
If you carry goods regularly, choose a four-door pickup. If you need seven seats or often take long trips with family, choose a PPV such as the Fortuner, MU-X or Pajero Sport, each built on its brand's pickup. The pickup gives you load space, while the PPV gives you an enclosed cabin and a third row.
Does a modified pickup sell for more?
Usually not as much as the owner spent, because tastes vary and some buyers worry about the suspension or whether the changes were reported to the DLT. If you kept the original parts, say in your listing that the truck can be returned to standard, which widens the pool of interested buyers.
What should I include in a listing for a used pickup?
Put the registration year, trim, body style, engine, gearbox, drivetrain and mileage in the title and opening lines, followed by the service history, any modifications, and photos of the load bed and engine bay. Pickup buyers filter by exactly these details, so complete listings get messages first.
How much more does a raised pickup cost than a low-rider?
Usually a noticeable amount for the same year. In late October 2026, listings on used car sites for a Revo Smart Cab 2.4 showed 2022–2023 Prerunners at about 550,000 baht against about 440,000 baht for the low-rider Z Edition, a gap of roughly 100,000 baht. The difference for any one truck still depends on the gearbox, mileage and condition, so filter listings by the same model and year and compare both versions.
